Leakers, insiders, and all kinds of news from news sites have already leaked at least 10 consistent pieces of information about what we might have new on the iPhone 15. The product should be announced in the first half of next September, and the official launch in the following week. Let's go with the possible news.
End of physical buttons deferred
According to information from Ming-Chi Kuo, an experienced technology market informant, so-called solid-state buttons, pressure-sensitive or capacitive buttons, should be postponed to the iPhone 16. Kuo pointed out publications of technical problems in this new button may be delayed the initiative.
Rumours point out that at least the mute button should have changed. Users can customize functions, and it will come in a single piece.
USB-C under the law
Thanks to the law passed by the European Union in 2022, Apple will have to use USB-C in its products on a mandatory basis. The bill takes effect in 2024, and all companies that want to work in Europe must adapt by the end of next year.
Today the iPhone still uses the Lightning connector. Although it was initially expected that Apple would only bring such a change next year, rumours say that the change will happen on the iPhone 15. Publications like Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal have a chance that the company will bring the switch from Lightning to USB-C already on the iPhone 15.
However, there will be no USB-C cable, only the Made For iPhone standard on the connector. A limitation that should try to avoid criticisms of charging performance due to the use of third-party wires.

Rounded corners
The 9to5Mac website reinforced, in February, what the informant ShimpApplePro had already brought in January, the iPhone 15 will have rounded edges, with a curved glass look on the sides and the display will be completely straight and not curved, at least in the iPhone 15 Pro.
New camera module
Informant ShimpApplePro revealed that the iPhones 15 and 15 Plus might gain a new camera module to adjust the rear lens alignment.
Power Zoom
Unlike competitors in the Android world, Apple has never put too much value on a very powerful zoom. This generation 15 can bring the periscope module with 5x zoom for approximation. However, this novelty should be concentrated on the iPhone 15 Pro Max due to the device's size. It will still be well below the competition. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is 100x, and the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is 120x.
48 MP sensor
The 48 MP sensor can arrive for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Today it is only available on top models (Pro and Pro Max), but the tendency is for it to be available on all devices.
Ultra stands for the future
Mark Gurman, from Bloomberg, sees indications that the most expensive model, the iPhone Ultra, should stay for 2024. The iPhone 16 Ultra will be the complete model in line with screen, cameras, processing and battery improvements.
New chip only for Pro and Pro Max
The current trend is that TSMC's 3-nanometer A17 Bionic chip, which is 30% more efficient and 15% faster, should only be available for the iPhones 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. The simplest models, 15 and 15 Plus, go with the A16 Bionic processor in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.
More RAM on Pro and Pro Max models
In addition to the new chip, the iPhone Pro and Pro Max should gain more RAM: 8 GB. The other models will have 6GB.
