Caliber, a free-to-play shooter, will be available on Steam on April 12th. The 1C Game Studios, the creator of the game, officially confirmed the international release date. Along with the release date, 1C Game Studios has published the 2023 Development Roadmap. Major game updates for Q2 and Q3 include a new operator collection, new maps and story missions, 3D scopes, new theatres of war and new game modes. One of the main new features of the game will be the introduction of the Batalhão de Oportunidades Policiais Especiais (BOPE) squad - the special police unit of the Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro (PMERJ) in Brazil. The information was sent to me by Theogames Agency. A Brazilian specialized game agency.
Caliber is now wishlisted on Steam. The developer has already confirmed that the title will support English, Spanish and Portuguese.
The game
An online third-person multiplayer shooter, Caliber's gameplay is based on tactical cooperation between players, with each team member taking on one of four roles represented by dozens of operators. Offering both PVP and PVE, the key to victory in Caliber is a proper assessment of the situation at hand and coordinated teamwork between all players.
There are 68 playable operators in Caliber, with 17 real-world special forces units in 12 countries, including the US, UK, Israel, Germany and France. Each operator in Caliber has a unique set of skill sets, weapons, and special abilities:
Assault - The fastest unit in the game, capable of successfully outflanking the enemy and breaking into their lines.
Marksman - Provides cover and eliminates enemies from a long distance.
Medic - Heals and revives allies and is effective in close and medium-range combat.
Support - Well-equipped Operator who has a lot of HP and armour. Support's main purpose is to distract enemies and interrupt their attacks.
Caliber launched in open beta in late 2019 and has been steadily evolving from player feedback ever since.
Caliber can be accessed on Steam and the official website.
